What is laser cutting?

Laser cutting is a machining method with which materials are cut to size and in the right shape by means of a laser. This is done using light amplification, made possible by an induced radiation transmission. Lasers are electromagnetic sources of radiation. The light from these radiation sources is emitted in a virtually parallel beam, at a very high intensity. The width of the light bundle is only a fraction of a millimeter. As a result, the intensity of the light beam is focused on a very small area – so intense that it can cut.
